Welcome! My hope for our work together is that you can begin to process and engage the pain that we so often don’t want to make space for. Instead of ignoring or pathologizing whatever has gotten you stuck, we will explore ways to honor and grow from these realities. I am often asking clients to slow down and pay attention to where grief is emerging. You will find more information about my practice and areas of focus below.
Lucas Peiser, MA, LMHC, LPCC
My work has taught me that change is possible even if it is not always the easiest. To be human is to change. My time spent in other countries has also shown me that human expression is varied and beautiful. We also don’t have to heal alone. I have experienced that true healing happens in community, both with other humans and the rest of the natural world. And as Martin Shaw says, “human beings are made.” This process takes time and requires so much in order to become what one is supposed to become. I trust that the relationship built in therapy can be a helpful step in the process.
I hold a M.A. in Counseling Psychology from The Seattle School. I have worked in multiple settings including community mental health with children, families, and individuals. I hold licenses and see clients both in Washington State and New Mexico.
I currently reside in Albuquerque, NM with my family. I enjoy time in the mountains, hiking and running, gardening, and baking.
“The most important thing each of us can know is our unique gift and how to use it in the world. Individuality is cherished and nurtured, because in order for the whole to flourish, each of us has to be strong in who we are and carry our gifts with conviction, so they can be shared with others.”
